Kuching Flood
Kuching experienced flood almost every end of the year. Not to surprise that most of the kuchingnites get used to it already. As for me, it simply tells that Chinese New Year is near, lol.
It has been raining continuously for 2-3 days with no signs of getting smaller. People start saying THIS place and THAT place are affected by the flood. Kheng’s aunt and two cousins came to his house early in the morning. Yes, you’re right, the water goes into their house.
The flood makes me recalled back the most serious flood in Kuching back in year 2003, when I was in Form 2. It was a very unique Chinese New Year I would say, where I [and my other family members] actually trapped in Batu Kawa for days and couldn’t go home due to the flood. I helped my cousins to carry the groceries at the shop to the first floor to avoid soaking in the water. And also, swept off the waters that came into the shop. We cleaned the floor that full of disgusting muds as well as the shelves once the flood water had gone. The place we stayed was not as serious as the shophouses far near the river where those people actually moved to other places. Of course, not to forget to have a little fun with the dirty flood water, LOL.
It was a long story and the memories are permanant. Essay with the title ‘Flood’ is no longer a tough one to me. At least I can really write something without referring to reference book where the stories are actually built up.
Think again, had you ever seen someone was trying to rescue his mother: with placing the old one in a floating basin on the water and pushing it slowly to somewhere higher ground?
Some pictures I took today. You figure out the places yourself lol. Some anonymouses asked me to tell the places so check it out.

In front of the shoplots, somewhere at Tabuan Laru.

Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, opposite Kuching Buddhist Society.

Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho/ Jalan Tong Wei Tah (If I’m not mistaken)

Jalan Batu Kawa, opposite MJC New Township.

Obviously, Batu Kawa.
A good news, the rain actually stops for awhile after I finish writing this entry.
Quick update 12/1: Not so much rain today. Some places are getting better but the water get stucked at some places. The tide level doesn’t seem to go down. What I know is Batu Kawa now has got no electricity supply at the moment. Boats are now the major travel transports, RM10 per ride is what I heard for those who want to travel "down" from Batu Kawa, lol.

2nd pic looks familiar but i can’t get it… mind to tell all the places in the pic?
